It’s raining quite heavily today. 30 April. I am in a bus to Porto. Lovely bus ride. I just watched the 2012 version of Anna Karenina with Keira Knightley ( who looks so much like Winona Ryder at that age). Really enjoyed the spectacle and the take as a theatre production
Anyway, this bus ride is pleasant and comfortable. My decision to postpone my walk to Finis Terra feels affirmed.
I am having happy moments of recollection as we pass the highway exits of the towns I walked through and near. Sitting in first row of this big coach is a bit like riding navigator chair in the motorhome. Good view but a little scary some moments.
Nice murals at Braga station
I had not eaten all day so I felt very hungry when I stopped at this sweet little small plates location. Stretching my wings a bit, I ordered the traditional sardines. I couldn’t quite bring myself to nosh on the heads or tails, but will confess I enjoyed the middles. Eating sardines without mustard is kind of a first for me. The pimiento peppers are just flat out tasty, and the cheese with toasted squares was great. The wine was perfect accompaniment. The couple at the next table had an interesting coffee and liquor – sua? Anyway, I had what they were having for a perfect finish.
That Google translation was what I got when I asked the proprietor about the restaurant name (tavern rebel).
The bus ride sounds luxurious after all those miles!! I’m sure your feet are thanking you!
Yummy looking small plates… except that weird ‘hot dog’ looking thing! What might it have been?? Glad you are having time to wander a bit before you fly home. Quite the adventure!
